Every year Framingham, MA-based EH Events (EH Publishing) puts on a tradeshow for the $15 billion custom electronics industry. Each year, EH Events needs to update their site with a fresh design, new content, new educational sessions, exhibitor lists and dynamic functionality that will educate potential attendees and exhibitors about the benefits of taking part in EHX. They needed a way to make it easy to maintain the content, and they needed custom applications to manage special features.
This winter marked our third time working with EH Events on the EHX website. Each year, we've been able to develop more features for the Event Team to manage the site as they streamline their internal processes.
Two specific elements are in place this year that make searching for sessions much easier for the website visitor. The first feature is the Searchable Schedule. it can be filtered dynamically by type of session or by track. Drilldowns on the grid allow end users with the ability to read a snapshot of the session as well as information on the speaker.
A second element is the Exhibitor Grid. Exhibitors are provided with a secure login and password to manage their own profile on the EHX Website. They can upload their logo, booth information and marketing message for the website visitors.
As far as the rest of the site - We used the ExpressionEngine Content Management System to control the content and design elements. Our Best Practices approach to Channel Management, Content Relationships and Asset Control for tradeshows and virtual events allowed us to implement an information architecture that will serve the client's needs for at least the next few events.
